May 12, 2009: BPSOS-Houston is proud to welcome Phale Cassady Le to the branch’s Emergency Response and Recovery Program.
Le graduated from the school of public health at the University of Maryland in 2008. While attending school she worked for the Maryland Vietnamese Mutual Association, a nonprofit dedicated to empowering the Vietnamese-American community in the Washington, DC metropolitan area.
Her work with the Vietnamese community continued when she served as a reporter for SBTN DC. In addition, she has worked overseas as a community liaison for the Vietnamese Overseas Initiative for Conscience Empowerment (VOICE).
With her bilingual skills and varied experiences, Le hopes to continue helping the Vietnamese community in Houston. She presently has a range of responsibilities including liaison work with key partners to develop the emergency program’s online presence.
“We’re extremely happy to have someone as talented as Cassady working with us,” said Danielle Bolks, the director of BPSOS’ Emergency Response and Recovery Program.
