April 13, 2009: Erin Boeer started working as a legal intern for BPSOS-Houston in February, and since then BPSOS clients and staff have been reaping the benefits of her skills and professionalism.
“I am enjoying learning many new things about the legal field and immigration proceedings,” said Boeer. “I also volunteer for Child Advocates on behalf of children currently placed under the care of the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services.”
Boeer, who has been accepted to the University of Houston Law Center, will begin classes full-time at the end of August. For now, despite her high level of involvement in key community issues, Boeer finds time to stay healthy and fit.
“In addition, I am currently training to participate in a half-marathon with Team in Training!” she adds.
“We’re really grateful to Erin for the high level of professionalism she brings to her work,” said BPSOS-Houston staff attorney An Phong Vo. “Thanks to her generosity and abilities, our clients are receiving better legal services.
“Erin has already begun her legal career even though she hasn’t even started law school yet,” added Vo. “As a legal intern at BPSOS, Erin has worked on adjustment of status applications, U visas, and conducted extensive legal research on the topic of human trafficking.”

Once again, BPSOS-Houston is thankful to have such skilled people working as interns!
