April 10, 2009: BPSOS-Houston is very grateful to An Duong, who worked with branch staff for three weeks as part of the South Texas College of Law Pro Bono Honors Program.
In those weeks, she worked extensively with BPSOS-Houston’s Daewoosa clients, who suffered some of the most egregious human rights violations ever inflicted on workers on US soil in recent memory. She put great efforts into completing their biographic information forms, collecting and organizing supporting documents, and drafting affidavits and cover letters in response to requests for evidence from immigration authorities.
“We’re so thankful that An made the time to help out our clients,” said staff attorney An Phong Vo. “We wish her the best of luck as graduation approaches.”
Duong, who will graduate South Texas College of Law in May 2009, expressed thanks for the chance to volunteer and said “I found Boat People SOS a worthy organization and its people and mission assets to any community.”

Again, BPSOS-Houston is grateful to have such talented people volunteer their time to help human trafficking victims and others in need of legal services!
