pink-ribbon2February 18, 2009: An estimated 182,460 new cases of breast cancer will be diagnosed in women living in the US in 2008 alone. Be aware and save your health!

BPSOS-Falls Church’s Health Awareness and Prevention Program (HAPP) is currently registering 25 women for a mammogram screening day on May 21. The event will take place from 9:00am to 3:30pm at the BPSOS headquarters, 6066 Leesburg Pike, in Falls Church, Virginia.

Women who would like to register should meet the following requirements:

– 40+ years old (35-40 if have a mother or sister diagnosed with breast cancer)

– Do not have insurance

– Have never been diagnosed with breast cancer

– Have not had a mammogram in 12 months

There will also be a screening in August, so even if registration fills up for May, or you won’t be around then, you can call to be placed on the list for the summer. For more information, please call HAPP health specialist Alexia Dinh at 703-538-2190 ext 236.

BPSOS is grateful to have, as our community partners in this event, the patient and capable staff members of the George Washington University Hospital Mobile Mammography Program. You can learn more about the program by clicking here.
