August 4, 2008: In a defense of free speech that has deep meaning for Vietnamese-American families and how you raise your children, BPSOS-New Orleans branch manager Tony Tran and Minh Nguyen, head of the Vietnamese American Young Leaders Association of New Orleans, have co-authored an op/ed blasting a Louisiana school board proposal to ban Vietnamese from commencement speeches. The op/ed is in The Times-Picayune (circulation 200,000+) and online here at Nola.com (40 million page views/month). The Times-Picayune followed up with an editorial that will spread the word to even more people.
